Dinky toys, cuddly bears, skipping ropes, marbles, cigarette cards, hand puppets, illustrated books, they came out of the woodwork, along with our photographs. All to jog our memories of our childhood.

We were rewarded with the most stimulating imaginative tea party: pink rabbit blancmange, jelly, fish paste sandwiches, hedgehogs of pineapple and cheese, chipolatas and cake of course.

At the end we sang: my old man’s a dustman…
